  1. Support for LDAP Subgroups for access to projects and repos

LDAP groups can include multiple nested (or Sub) groups. Can Deveo add support for these nested LDAP groups to enable access to projects and repositories?

    • Protected branches for SVN

      http://blog.deveo.com/protected-branches-in-devo-2-9-0/

Protected branches were implemented for GIT 2 years ago, why it still
      hasnt been implemented for SVN?

Am actually quite suprised how can this be missed from the list of features. All your SVN competitors like Assembla, Сloudforge, Beanstalkapp, XP-dev, SourceRepo have protected branches or access levels.
And it would take only few days to implement cause svn has built-in access control.

Am asking cause thats the only features that holds us from migration to Deveo.

      Kind Regards.

      • Repository search functionality (WebUI)

The ability to search a repository from the webui would be very useful. I have a few senior developers who will assist our fresh staff on issues via mobile or computer without a git client. Our prior git hosting had a repository search functionality baked into the webui which allowed to to more easily provide feedback on specific code issues.

        • Download/Upload Repository

It would be great if entire repositories could be downloaded and uploaded (obviously this is for svn and not git). This would allow existing repositories to be easily moved to deveo without loosing history and would allow backups (something that's been a requirement for any hosts for at least one company I work with).

I understand it may be expensive to do this immediately on demand, but could be a scheduled task pushing or pulling from ftp, amazon s3, dropbox, etc.

Download could be a scheduled (weekly, daily) tasks or triggered to run once. Uploads only make sense if you…

          • Reorder issues on kanban board

As far as I know it is currently impossible to reorder issues (in a column) on the kanban board.

It would be very useful to have one or both of:
            1. Sorting issues by priority. This would require the priorities to have a defined order.
            2. Manually setting the order by dragging and dropping issues in a column.

            • Download repository as zip

It would be nice to be able to download a (git) repository as a zip file. I know I can clone and then remove the .git stuff, but it would just be more convenient.

              Thanks for a great service!

              • Code review tool needs ability to see whole file side by side while reviewing. Now you can see only lines which area inside patch.

Reviewing code would be easier if you could do review by seeing whole file side by side. For example now you only see little part of some function when committer have done some oneline chage to that function. It's hard say if the change is good.

Discord Integration would be a nice addition. My team uses it in lieu or slack as its free, provides api access, and both textual and voice communication means.

                    • Expose webhook for issue tracker events

It'd be great to have a webhook for change events in the issue tracker, e.g., on issue create, on state change. We've got repository commits generating announcements into a Slack channel, so the same capability on the issue tracker side seems like a natural next step. Thanks!

                      • Allow enabling an svn hook to enforce non-empty commit messages.

One does not simply commit without a word (or two).

                        • Allow webhook subscriptions for tag events

Currently repo hooks using the webhook service type can only subscribe to "push" events. These hooks however do not fire if a new tag is pushed to a repo, only when new commits are added. I would like to be able to receive tag creation events in my webhook, so that I could trigger CI events for them downstream. This would enable e.g. automatic releases of tagged versions while supporting developer workflows where tags are pushed after the commits.

                          • Allow company admin bots to modify projects

Currently company admin bots cannot really modify project metadata. In my usecase I would like to have a webhook service registered as a company hook. The service would have company admin bot credentials, and when it received project creation events, it would register itself as a project webhook. Then it would do the same thing for repos in the project. This would enable a setup where projects would be automatically set up for complex CI integration via the service, while an administrator would only have to configure one thing: the original company hook.

Slack notifications work well, but code reviews don't generate events. This is the event we are most interested in seeing in slack and currently we have to copy/paste the link manually.

                                • Create custom security groups.

As DevOps, I'd like to be able to create new permission groups e.g. (Guest, Master, Administrator, Developer, MY_DEVELOPER_GROUP) and set my custom permissions for it.
                                  e.g.
                                  Like preset groups here
                                  https://app.deveo.com/docs/user/projects/
I'd like to see my custom group.

It would solve problem that we want to let developers create/destroy repositories, however they wouldn't be able to commit to protected branches and/or avoid code reviews if we made them admins (as was suggested).

                                    • Email notification when wiki page is edited

Devs can request an email notification when a wiki page is edited.
We use the wiki for things like build instructions. If those instructions change, there's way of knowing other than sending an email to all developers. It would be better if a developer could subscribe to changes to wiki pages.

It would be nice to be able to export issues to CSV/Excel

                                        • Improve diff view

Deveo diff view can currently show Diffs as follows:
                                          * From single changeset, by clicking the commit message.
                                          * Over >1 changesets, by manually supplying the revisions to compare. This shows changes of the whole repository over those changesets.

However there doesn't seem to be easy way to see changes over >1 changesets of an individual file, or of a subtree in the repository. This would be really useful to have.

By far the best repository browser that I've found is, maybe a bit surprisingly, the one included in Redmine. Please have a look at http://www.redmine.org/projects/redmine/repository for inspiration. Thanks!
